Súl ad Astral -Debut album

Súl ad Astral is a black metal / post rock project of Stephen Fortune of New Zealand.

The "Súl ad Astral" self-titled debut album is an incredible musical journey. From the first track to the last one, there is always something interesting to hear. Stephen is doing well with all guitars/bass and programming, playing powerful and emotional music. Michael Rumple performs vocals with a wide range and very nice lyrics. One may hear many possible influences here (Amesoeurs, Lantlôs), yet Súl ad Astral has its own sound, quite personal. My guess is that this project will do even greater things in the near future (more avant-garde music with a wide range of climaxes like Agalloch?). Meanwhile, here is the debut album and as far as I am concerned this is one of the best post black metal stuff I’ve heard so far.
