Soiré Métal finlandais ce soir au Glazart.

* Omnium Gatherum

Un Death metal mélodique plutôt bien emballé. Le chanteur manque un peu de charisme mais est heureux d'être là et ça se sent. Un bon moment. Les lumières sont minimales. Le son est bon. Le public réagit bien.

* Insomnium :

J'aime beaucoup leur dernier album "Across the Dark" ainsi que l'avant dernier "Above the Weeping World". Du très bon death metal mélodique. Une intro dos au public puis le groupe se déchaîne. Puissant et mélodique. Excellente prestation toute en énergie. Une heure sur scène. Vraiment un très bon concert.

Je me dis que ça va être dur pour Swallow the Sun de suivre Insomnium tant leur prestation était impeccable et très plaisante.

* Swallow the Sun

Swallow the Sun c'est du doom metal très mélodique avec des vocaux gutturaux (et quelques chants clairs). J'adore leurs albums (surtout les 3 premiers). Leur musique est très forte, puissante, très mélodique. Les riffs et les claviers sont somptueux. Le rythme est volontiers lent, limite oppressant. Le groupe accélère le rythme sur certains morceaux.

Le chanteur communique très peu avec la foule. Contrairement à leur son sur album, le son du groupe ce soir fait la part belle à la section rythmique (batterie très en avant) au détriment des claviers. Je trouve que la musique du groupe gagne en lourdeur mais perd au passage ses magnifiques envolées.

Chouette concert.

Finnish Metal tonight at the Glazart. Very nice this place. We are a hundred spectators.

* Omnium Gatherum
A pretty good melodic death metal.The singer lacks a little charisma but he is happy to be there and it can be seen. I had a good time. The lights are minimal. The sound is good. The public reacts good.

* Insomnium :

I like their last album "Across the Dark" and the penultimate "Above the Weeping World". Very good melodic death metal. An intro back to the audience and then the band unleashes. Powerful and melodic. An hour on stage. A really good concert.

I tell myself it will be hard for Swallow the Sun to follow Insomnium as their performance was very enjoyable.

* Swallow the Sun

Swallow the Sun plays a very melodic doom metal with guttural vocals (some songs are with clear vocals). I love their albums (especially the 3 first ones). Their music is very strong, powerful and melodic. The riffs and keyboards are superb. The pace is deliberately slow, quite oppressive. The band accelerates the pace on some tracks.

The singer communicates very little with the crowd. Contrary to their sound on album, the band's sound tonight is focused on the rhythm section (drums very forward) rather than on the keyboards. I think the band's music becomes more punchy but loses by the way some magnificent melodic passages.

Nice show.
