Dysthymia - The Shivering Opus - Limited edition

Mon coup de coeur du mois c'est le CD de Dysthymia intitulé The Shivering Opus. Dysthymia est un groupe islandais qui joue un black metal avec des riffs mid tempo proches du doom metal. Le groupe est produit par le label chinois Pest Productions.
My band of the month is Dysthymia with the CD entitled The Shivering Opus. Dysthymia is an Icelandic band that plays black metal with some doom metal mid tempo riffs. The Band is produced by the Chinese label Pest Productions.

Le groupe est réputé être l'oeuvre d'un seul homme, Árni (les morceaux sont cependant crédités à 3 personnes dans les notes de pochettes). Le son est froid. La voix est désespérée. L'ambiance peut paraître déprimante. Des samples viennent renforcer l'ambiance d'agonie, de noirceur, voire de terreur. Perso ça me fait du bien d'écouter ce type d'ambiance, sombre certes, mais aux mélodies riches, enveloppantes, envoûtantes (comme Saturnus ou Swallow the Sun dans un registre plus doom metal).
The band is deemed to be the work of one man named Árni (the songs are, however, credited to three individuals in the sleeve notes). The sound is cold. The voice is desperate. The atmosphere may seem depressing. Samples reinforce the atmosphere of agony, darkness, even terror. I like to hear this kind of atmosphere, dark indeed, but with rich, enveloping melodies (as Saturnus or Swallow the Sun in a more doom metal style).

A noter que Dysthymia a sorti un CD en édition très limitée (66 exemplaires) avec un CD bonus de 3 titres, un poster A4 et un tee shirt de toute beauté.
